Two Outstanding Dallas Leaders Headline Our April Luncheons
Leading with Purpose: A Power-Packed Month at the Dallas Founder Lions Club
At the Dallas Founder Lions Club, we believe in shining a light on those who lead with purpose, serve with integrity, and inspire our community. That’s why we’re thrilled to welcome two outstanding Dallas County leaders to our meetings this April: Dallas County Treasurer Pauline Medrano and Judge Audrey Moorehead of Dallas County Criminal Court No. 3.
These two dynamic speakers reflect the strength and diversity of leadership in Dallas, and both bring decades of experience, public service, and community impact to our lunchtime programs.
On Friday, April 4, we’ll welcome The Honorable Pauline Medrano, Dallas County Treasurer. Since 2015, Treasurer Medrano has modernized the Treasurer’s Office, enhanced transparency, and helped ensure the responsible management of taxpayer funds. A former Dallas City Council Member who was elected by her peers to serve as Mayor Pro Tem, she is currently the President-Elect of the County Treasurers Association of Texas, continuing her leadership on the state level.
Then, on Friday, April 18, we host The Honorable Audrey Moorehead, the first woman elected to serve as Judge of Dallas County Criminal Court No. 3. With 14 years of combined legal and judicial experience, Judge Moorehead brings deep expertise in criminal defense, civil matters, and judicial ethics. Her resume includes service on the State Bar of Texas Board of Directors, leadership in the National Bar Association, and community roles with CASA, Unlocking Doors, and more. She’s a sought-after speaker and mentor—and a powerful advocate for fairness in the justice system.
Judge Moorehead is also a proud member of the Dallas Founder Lions Club. Her presence on the bench continues a rich tradition of public service among our club’s membership. Notably, Julien C. Hyer, who once served as a Judge in Dallas County, was also a longtime member of our club and went on to serve as President of Lions Clubs International. This legacy of civic leadership reflects the unique role our club has played for over a century in shaping local, national, and global communities through service and leadership.
As one of the original clubs that helped launch the Lions Clubs International movement in 1916, the Dallas Founder Lions Club is proud to be part of a legacy that now spans 1.4 million members in more than 200 countries. While our service programs—ranging from vision clinics and food drives to refugee support and youth engagement—are central to our mission, we also believe in strengthening civic dialogue and community learning.
That’s why our speaker series continues to be one of the most consistent in Dallas. Some of our speakers this year have included:
- Dr. Bradford Williams, Vice Chancellor and President of Dallas College El Centro
- Council Member Omar Narvaez and Adam Medrano, former City Council Member and Mayor Pro Tem
- Stephanie Elizalde, Superintendent of Dallas ISD
- Joe Carreon, Dallas ISD Trustee
- Beckie Callahan, Executive Director, Japan-America Society of DFW
- Rena Pederson, former Vice President and Editorial Page Editor at The Dallas Morning News
- Sol Villasana, attorney and author of Dallas’s Little Mexico: Settlement to Barrio
- Leaders from Dallas Area Rapid Transit, Downtown Dallas Inc., UT Southwestern Medical Center, the University of North Texas, and several Dallas-area nonprofits dedicated to innovation, equity, and service
Whether you’re a local leader, a future Lion, or just looking for a space to connect with thoughtful people and inspiring ideas—we’d love to have you join us.
