Still Buzzing: Highlights from Our Inspiring March 7 Meeting

With an incredible speaker, meaningful connections, and joyful surprises, our last Dallas Founder Lions Club meeting reminded us why we gather—and why it matters.

We’re still buzzing from our March 7 Dallas Founder Lions Club meeting—it was informative, inspiring, and full of great company.

We had the honor of welcoming Dr. Sandi Pruitt of UT Southwestern, who shared insights from her impactful work as a Professor and Associate Director of Community Outreach, Engagement, and Equity at the Harold C. Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center. Her presentation on community health and equity left us thinking deeply about how we can further our mission to serve.

It was also a joy to catch up with our fellow Lion and Dallas County Commissioner for District 4, Dr. Elba Garcia, and Jasmine Flores from her office, who joined us for the program. Their presence reminded us of the strength in collaboration between public service and civic engagement. And we celebrated a special moment with our own Judge Audrey Moorehead, who shared the wonderful news of her engagement—congratulations, Judge!

What makes our club truly unique is the energy in the room—yes, we have powerful speakers and meaningful service, but we also genuinely enjoy being together. Whether we’re organizing community projects or catching up over lunch, the friendships we build are just as valuable as the impact we make.
