Empowering Vision at El Centro College with Dallas Founder Lions

In the heart of Downtown Dallas, the Dallas Founder Lions Club continues to leave its mark not just in the community but in the hearts of those we serve.
Known for our deep commitment to vision health, we recently hosted an impactful eye clinic at Dallas College, El Centro Campus, that brought together expertise, compassion, and community spirit in a meaningful way.

As a part of Lions Clubs International, our club prides itself on its longstanding tradition of aiding the visually impaired and working tirelessly
to prevent avoidable blindness. With the robust backing of the Lions Clubs
International Foundation (LCIF), we are empowered to amplify our local efforts with significant initiatives and essential grants.

This marked a significant achievement for our club as we partnered with the Sister2Sister group at El Centro College to conduct two comprehensive eye clinics. These events were not just service opportunities but a collaboration that embodied the spirit of community and the core of our mission—service to others.

The clinics were held at Dallas College's El Centro Campus, making it accessible and welcoming for students. The success of these clinics would not have been possible without the leadership and dedication of Lions Sight and Tissue Foundation’s Directors, PDG Darla Wisdom and Lion Danny Fletcher, and the invaluable support of Dr. Toni Schutte. Each played a crucial role in organizing and delivering care that changed lives.

Our efforts were bolstered by the enthusiastic participation of our DallasFounder Lions Club members, alongside our friends from the Collin Athena Lions Club and the dedicated staff of Dallas College. Together, we ensured that everyone who walked into our clinic was met with smiles, expertise, and the highest standard of care.

The eye clinics are just one example of how our club continues championing the cause of vision. Each year, we strive to enhance our community’s well-being through similar events, focusing on making a tangible difference in our neighbors' lives.
