Dallas Founder Lions Club Members Come Together for the Reverchon Park Roundup
Lions from the Dallas Founder Lions Club joined community efforts to restore and refresh one of Dallas’ most historic green spaces at the 26th Annual Reverchon Park Roundup.
Lions in Action: A Team Effort for a Cleaner Dallas
This past Saturday, members of the Dallas Founder Lions Club rolled up their sleeves to help remove litter and debris at Reverchon Park, making a tangible impact on this well-loved urban oasis.
With gloves on and trash bags in hand, our Lions worked along the trails, creek beds, and open spaces, doing their part to ensure the park remains a clean, welcoming space for everyone. This wasn’t just about aesthetics—it was about preserving a place that has been part of Dallas’ history for over a century.
Built in 1915, Reverchon Park has served as a gathering place for generations. Just a year later, in 1916, the Dallas Founder Lions Club was established, making this project even more meaningful as we continue our long tradition of community service in Dallas.
More Than Just a Cleanup—A Commitment to the Environment
This project was about more than just one park. Lions Clubs International has a global commitment to the environment, recognizing that healthy communities start with healthy spaces.
From environmental cleanups to tree planting to waste reduction, Lions around the world take on sustainability projects that align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—working to protect nature, reduce pollution, and create greener communities.
By taking part in the Reverchon Park Roundup, our team of Lions joined this global effort, proving that local service has a worldwide impact.
“As Lions, we don’t just talk about service—we show up and take action,” said Lion Jeff Strater, who coordinated the Dallas Founder Lions Club’s participation. “It was inspiring to see our members come together to support a park that has been part of Dallas for generations. Service projects like this remind us that small actions add up to a big impact.”
At the heart of it all, this project was about teamwork—Lions coming together to serve, support, and strengthen our community.
If you're looking to make a difference and be part of a team that serves with purpose, join us at an upcoming Dallas Founder Lions Club meeting! We meet at El Centro College on the first and third Fridays of each month at 11:45 AM.
Because when Lions work together, communities thrive.
