· Awards

The Dallas Founder Lions Club continues to make waves in Lions District 2-X1, earning multiple honors at the 4th Cabinet Meeting on Saturday, March 15, 2025. The event marked the final cabinet meeting of the Lions year, bringing together clubs from across the district to celebrate achievements, discuss progress, and advance the shared mission of service.

Lions Clubs operate in districts to enhance collaboration and impact. District 2-X1, which includes clubs in North Texas, provides support, leadership, and resources to strengthen Lions' efforts in membership growth, community service, and leadership development. Each year, four cabinet meetings are held to assess progress and recognize outstanding contributions—and this final meeting was especially rewarding for the Dallas Founder Lions Club.

Mission 1.5: Growing Our Membership, Expanding Our Service

A key highlight of the event was the presentation of the Mission 1.5 Membership Growth Awards—part of Lions Clubs International’s initiative to reach 1.5 million members worldwide. The goal of Mission 1.5 is to expand Lions' reach by welcoming new members, ensuring that the organization continues to serve more people in more communities.

Dallas Founder Lions Club received three Mission 1.5 Membership Growth Awards, recognizing outstanding recruitment efforts:

  • Lion Carol Donovan – 10 new members
  • Lion Jeff Strater – 7 new members
  • Lion Nia MacKay – 6 new members

Additionally, the club was honored with Certificates of Appreciation for both membership growth and service activity reporting, a testament to the dedication of its members in making a difference.

Recognizing Excellence in Service and Wellness

Beyond membership growth, Lion Nia MacKay secured third place in the MD-2 Diabetes Awareness ‘Striding for Healthy Living’ contest for ‘Most Miles Run.’ This recognition highlights not only the Lions' commitment to service but also their focus on health and wellness initiatives, an essential component of Lions Clubs International’s global impact.
