Celebrating a Successful Emerging Lions Leadership Institute in Kerrville, Texas

The Emerging Lions Leadership Institute (ELLI) recently brought together dedicated Lions from across Texas for an inspiring three-day leadership training experience in Kerrville, Texas. Hosted at the beautiful Texas Lions Camp, this interactive program provided participants with essential
leadership skills, valuable insights, and the confidence to take on future leadership roles within their clubs.

This year, from our club, Lion Jeff Strater, our marketing chair, participated in the training. Also representing Lions District 2-X1 was Julie Huerta from the Grand Prairie Host Lions Club.

ELLI is designed to prepare Lions and Leos for leadershippositions, equipping them with the tools necessary to effectively serve as club presidents and beyond. The curriculum covered change management, team support, creative thinking, and strategic planning, all essential skills for guiding

The setting at Texas Lions Camp added an extra layer ofi nspiration. The camp, which serves children with disabilities and chronic illnesses, embodies the very spirit of Lions’ dedication to service. Walking
the grounds, seeing the family cabins, dining hall, and bunkhouses, and experiencing the uplifting environment where young campers find joy and independence was truly moving for many attendees.

Beyond the training sessions, ELLI provided a unique opportunity for collaboration and networking. Lions from various districts shared experiences, exchanged ideas, and formed connections that will
strengthen leadership across Texas. The friendships and insights gained over the weekend will undoubtedly shape the future of Lions leadership in the region.
